Disappointing

Liked: Was ok
Disliked: The room was insufficiently serviced with sufficient facial tissue boxes, hand towels, and wash cloths. The body wash container was at its lowest level. The stairs had spillage messes that remained unattended until the next day.

Exceptional

Liked: The front desk staff was very helpful in pointing out local attractions in town and how to get there!

Enjoyable stay

Liked: Beautiful view. Close to all amenities.
Disliked: Tourist prices were outrageous.

Nice enough folks, but would...

Liked: Staff was friendly and had good recommendations for enjoying Petoskey and the sunset. Location is pretty good.
Disliked: The biggest issue was an overwhelming smell of ammonia in the room. It burned your nostrils, and made for a terrible sleep. It was too late to complain to the staff, so we put up with it. Also, the toilet did not flush, even with nothing in it. The bed and pillows were not comfortable either. Finally, a little thing...there were no bath towels in the bathroom. Only after drying myself with a hand towel did I notice bath towels on a high shelf in the main room. Really odd. In any case, we were up and out of there at daybreak.

Liked: Good! Liked the juices, variety of coffee and creamer, eggs (very good), snacks, biscuits and butter, waffles and syrup and cleanliness of the whole dining room. Good quality soap and lotion. Pump dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Comfy bed with lots of pillows, good lighting, very nice showers. Friendly staff. Good location, nice towels and bed linens, good maid service. Will definitely come back here.
Disliked: Was disappointed that the fluffy blankets were no longer in the rooms (I think they were red when we stayed in previous years). Missed the Loaded Potato Soup and ice cream. I would definitely say this is a great place to stay, but not necessarily "romantic". Also the space between the bed and the bureau was tight, a little hard to get around, hubby and I had to take turns going from one part of the room to another.
