Great value clean and comfy

Very disappointing stay this time
Liked: The receptionist was very helpful in letting me move to another room
Disliked: Power went off right after we got situated in our room. The room smelled so bad of feet, mustiness and something I can't even describe! I talked to receptionist about it and asked if I could change rooms. She assured me as soon as the power came back on I could. It came on maybe a hour later and she gave us another room, very clean and smelled great! Well after moving our things upstairs and finally getting settled, we got dressed and headed to the pool as it was very hot out. Walked all the way there to find gate locked! I called desk to ask if it was going to be open soon and she said no bc the ladder had broken. By that point I was literally so frustrated! That's the biggest reason we booked there for the pool. Anyways breakfast had always been above and beyond when we've stayed, but to top the bad experience off, for some reason they didn't have the sausage links and fried eggs. So disappointed once again. Worst experience I've ever had there and it's been such a great place to stay previously.

Unexpected charges to my debit...
Liked: The pool area was ok. The pool itself was small and not in great repair but we had it to ourselves most of the time. The breakfast was ok. Decent selection for such a small motel. They hade sausage links, eggs, bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt, and a waffle maker.
Disliked: The room was not clean at all. There were stains on the mattress, cobwebs all over the room, dirt and grime around the door handles to the room door and the bathroom door, and the walls were dirty. The front desk staff was not very nice and instead of a normal hold for incidentals, I was told that they would debit a $150 deposit from my bank account on top of the room rate because I used a debit card instead of a credit card. Not a hold but actually withdraw the money and refund it upon checkout. When I checked my account they actually charged me a $250 "damage" fee right after checking in. I asked the staff about it and they denied it, stating that the charge was from booking.com. I called booking.com and they called the front desk and had them remove that charge. They confirmed that it was in fact the hotel that charged me, not the website. The motel staff never apologized or even acknowledge what happened. It was overall ok for the money but I won't be staying there again because of the debit card policy and apathetic attitude of the front desk staff.
