Baymont by Wyndham Des Moines North

Not a bad experience. I would stay there again for that price. Did not feel uncomfortable. Shuttle service would have been nice.

Liked: Beds were so comfortable.
Disliked: Needs updated; not in a great part of town.

I would never recommend this hotel too anybody!! We booked the Baymont on NE 14th St. When we walked in it smelled like a nursing home it was soo small and nothing like the pictues. There were linens laying around. To get to our room we had to drive around back to another building our room looked like it was from the 70s or something and was soo small the ceiling was only a cpl inches from our head there was barely any lighting at all. I didn't even feel safe to set down it was such a gross place for safe for my well being at that. I would never recommend this place to anybody at all!!

Liked: That it was affordable and fit my family. And the pool was decent (super salty though)
Disliked: That there was a dead decayed mouse in front of one of their entrances. My fridge was broke and smelled horrible, there was no extra toilet paper, the ice machine was broken, the ac did not cool off the room. There was no garbage can in one of the rooms. There was no chair in one of the rooms. It was just an all around bad experience. The bathroom faucet made weird sounds when you turned it on. The TV sound was horrible with static. The room wasn't ready at check in time. We had to wait an extra hour for them to get it ready.

Liked: Close to the interstate, easy to find and easy to get to.
Disliked: 1 towel in our room, for a family of 4. No towels by the pool for swimming. Found a dead mouse in our room. Husband thought one of our kids toys were behind the entertainment stand, and slid it forward to grab it, and it was a dead mouse. Brought it up to front staff, they said: ill tell the maid when she cleans the room. The breakfast, the waffle mix was empty, and nobody would come to fill it.

Liked: “Tee” was at the front desk and for all the things that went wrong she was kind and helpful and everything that went wrong wasn’t her fault. She was all alone- she could t man the front desk and help with all the issues… so I’d say bad management.
Disliked: Breakfast was pretty bad. I got there to the breakfast room around 7(30 minutes after they opened) there was nearly no food. The food that was there was meh. 4 muffins, bread and no butter or spread, the space was dirty and unkept. There was a fridge but had no food in it. There was zero fruit. And no syrup for the waffles. It was bad. We were given a room that was uncleaned and had no bedsheets and a half eaten pizza box. The floor in Bay B looked awful covered in a thick layer of dirt and trash. We got moved from that room to a new room in the main building. It was cleaner but in closer look it was bad. The new bedroom had cleanish but stained yellow sheets, and a mattress pad with a fresh period stain. There was a massive dent/hole I. The wall like someone had run into the wall. The bathroom mirror looked scary and covered with dark marks and was damaged.

DONT BOTHER! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Disliked: Upon arrival customer service just wasn’t great. They told us that there were no room keys and that they would have to let us in the room if we left. I was nervous to enter the room but wasn’t as bad as I thought until we looked around. Sheets and blankets have stains, water was in bathroom floor, no towels, toilet paper holder had an empty role, and room had a smokers smell. We felt like grounded children who couldn’t leave the room because there was no keys. Getting up for breakfast at 6:00; which is hard to find, I immediately turned around to get from somewhere else. The sausages looked like it had old grease on it. It didn’t look appealing at all. Overall your money is worth somewhere else.

Run fast

Liked: Rude check in, it seemed like a lot of people didn’t come to work. They didn’t have rooms clean and didn’t know which rooms were empty at 5 pm.The person at the desk told the people waiting to check in to leave if they are unhappy eating over 1-2 to check in.I said I had a reservation and I’d like to go somewhere much better, but they said they would charge me even if I left. There were no towels or washcloths in the room. The next day I told them and the lady at the desk was running back and forth crying. She said she had to pee for a long time and she had no time to pee. I told her I’d wait till she used the restroom but she got my towels and kept crying and jumping. At breakfast someone asked me in Spanish if I was staying there because the motel 6 people next door come over to steal food. I told him I was not there to steal their food. It’s a very very tough location with rude people. I go through booking to avoid this creepy places. How did this place have a good rating? OMG OMG run
