Baymont by Wyndham Cookeville

Great hotel that sits far enough off the road where traffic noise is at a minimal. Very clean room that DID NOT have that typical musty smell that even most higher end hotels have. Loved the small semi private balconies with sliding glass doors for sitting outside. Great view of the mountains, and the price was much less than others that could not offer all that. The staff was friendly and helpful. The one downside was the super bright light on the patio that could not be blocked by the light dampening curtains. I woke several times thinking it was full daylight which made for a not so restful night. Those lights need an off switch and the stay would have been great and this would have been a 5 star review. I will stay here again, but really hope that someone from the hotel sees this and does something about the overly bright lights.

Liked: Hotel room was very clean; staff was friendly and helpful. I have a hang up about non smoking rooms still smelling as if someone had smoked there, or at least smelling musty. This was not a problem, the room smelled clean. Excellent view and I loved the small semi private balconies with chairs for sitting outside.
Disliked: This is usually the bad for most hotels, but this is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. The light on the private balcony was so bright that I woke at numerous times thinking it was morning already. Yes there are room darkening curtains, but they do not hug the wall/window enough to block the light.

Disliked: I used to work at a hotel I made damn sure that we followed all the rules we were extremely respectful and we picked up our room afterwards the only thing that there was a mess of was my girl had her monthly and got a little bit on the sheetsHad two rooms 225 and 228 Neither room I could take a shower in one room flushed fine the 228 you could flush twice a day and they kept my deposit which I was relying on but they promised me I would get until apparently the sheets were too much for them which all you had to do is bleach them in warm water with some Dawn and voila new. Every room needed work extreme work the beds were all outdated the sheets were thin and very uncomfortable. The lighting in the hallway was ridiculous like might as well be like a little night light on the wall the people up front acted real nice and was really nice to me but then I leave and they keep my deposit and tell me I trashed their rooms when I'm 110% on how I kept my rooms besides the little mess in the sheets. Do not waste your time coming here it's a cheap place but the Mexican restaurant sucks you won't get your money's worth unless you stay in the pool and you're gone all the time.Only got a few photos I was just trying to spend my last moments with my two daughters before they went home it was really a disappointment and not to get my deposit back after trying so hard to make sure that I was doing perfectly fine with due by them they do wrong by me will never go back wouldn't suggest anyone wasting their time either
