Baymont by Wyndham Cookeville

Great hotel that sits far enough off the road where traffic noise is at a minimal. Very clean room that DID NOT have that typical musty smell that even most higher end hotels have. Loved the small semi private balconies with sliding glass doors for sitting outside. Great view of the mountains, and the price was much less than others that could not offer all that. The staff was friendly and helpful. The one downside was the super bright light on the patio that could not be blocked by the light dampening curtains. I woke several times thinking it was full daylight which made for a not so restful night. Those lights need an off switch and the stay would have been great and this would have been a 5 star review. I will stay here again, but really hope that someone from the hotel sees this and does something about the overly bright lights.

Liked: Hotel room was very clean; staff was friendly and helpful. I have a hang up about non smoking rooms still smelling as if someone had smoked there, or at least smelling musty. This was not a problem, the room smelled clean. Excellent view and I loved the small semi private balconies with chairs for sitting outside.
Disliked: This is usually the bad for most hotels, but this is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. The light on the private balcony was so bright that I woke at numerous times thinking it was morning already. Yes there are room darkening curtains, but they do not hug the wall/window enough to block the light.

Passable

Liked: I liked that I was greeted with a smile when I arrived at 9pm by a young lady. I also liked the fact of the most comfortable king size bed
Disliked: I didn't like the fact that when I booked online, I was charged an extra $100 dollars when I arrived at the hotel,saying it would be refunded when I checked out...still waiting for my MONEY BAYMONT!! I also didn't like the fact that I had to clean the shower of long black hair before I could take a shower. If my money is not refunded to me today I will blast this Baymont all over social media platforms, I paid for the room NOW PAY ME MY MO EY BACK BAYMONT!!

My stay was okay and...

Liked: The room was decent. Loved the balcony overlooking the mountains
Disliked: The water for the shower was Luke warm, not hot

Disliked: There was mold in the bathroom. The Breakfast was mostly limited to snack food.

Disliked: Breakfast counter was practically empty at 7:30am.

We should have been refunded...

Disliked: I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and there was a bed bug on the pillow beside me. I called the front desk immediately and he told me to talk to the manager in the morning . I went to check out and took the bed bug with me on a wash cloth, the manager wasn't there and she said he would be in around 2 and she would have him call me 765-987-5079. She said that we could have brought them in. I told her the only place we had been was the cemetery. No phone call

Liked: It’s a decent little hotel to stay at. However, it does need updated. The staff were very friendly.
