Friendly staff, good communication

Liked: The staff was very nice, they communicated through text messaging prior to arriving. They looked as if they had a good breakfast selection, although we left at 2 am as we wanted to get back home. This was our halfway point for our return trip. The hotel was close to the interstate so it was easy to hop back on the interstate and resume travels.
Disliked: The doors all looked like they had been banged on from the outside. All metal doors and they all had dents. The inside smelled old/moldy. And the platform beds had underpinning of sheet metal, so when you moved on the bed it shook the sheet metal and sounded similar to thunder. When I went to the front entrance to check out at 2 am, the doors were locked but a staff member was there and came to the door fairly quickly. Between the doors looking like they had the crap beat out of them and the locked front lobby it gave a general feeling of unsafe. It was honestly a good hotel for a short period.

Liked: Had a very spacious room with a comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly.
Disliked: The breakfast could have been better. It offered eggs, sausage, and pancakes. Eggs were cut in chunks and were dry. It would have been nice to have a waffle maker.

Inconvenient location and rooms smell...

Liked: Manager was kind enough to change my room because the first room smelled strongly like mildew and the room I was moved into smelled like a heavy smoker stayed in it.
Disliked: I had to ask for a change of room because the room smelled very musty and smelled very much like mildew. The sheets felt damp. There is a nearby Circle K and a Waffle House and Coffee shop but outside of that, everything is far away and costs about $20 one-way via UBER/Lyft.
