Bay View Resort Myrtle Beach

Based on signatures that are required upon one's arrival, this hotel must have many unruly patrons and is located in a part of town where crime is a consideration. We were going to walk a quarter mile to the historic Train Depot for a concert and were told it was not wise to walk - we should drive or Uber. Our heat would not turn off and we slept in an 81 degree room. There are too many other choices to stay in MB. Will not return.

Liked: Nothing stood out.
Disliked: Heat setting was not working - thermostat set at 70, yet the heat would not cut off. It was 81 in the room as we tried to sleep.

Not what I expected

Liked: Location was great
Disliked: Bed size, room size, TV size, dripping water in the shower, whatever the substance was at the base of the dresser holding the TV, amount of money spent for the room

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Everything. Door didn’t lock, couldn’t enjoy balcony because it always smelled like weed from people smoking on their balconies around us, pools were dirty, elevators were scary, when we would ask the front desk for something they said they’d put a call into the proper dept and never did, toilet ran constantly, a/c vent was in the bathroom directly over where you get ready near the sink.

Disliked: The ac stopped working they fixed it lasted maybe an hour then broke again I called the front desk twice before they sent someone and he acted like he knows nothing about the AC just an employee

Liked: Was very clean, lots of friendly knowledgeable staff, great pool bar. Location was awesome right on boardwalk with 2nd Ave pier down beach to south and shopping north of hotel right off beautiful well lit boardwalk. Parking was free and in a parking garage across street. Kitchen had everything you need cookware etc. Elevators were plenty and fast. Very safe property. Was on 14th floor corner one bedroom with two balconies one looking south to second Ave pier other looking south down ocean blvd outfront. Was great beautiful views! Noticed wouldn’t want to be much lower cause buildings next door block views. Will book again no doubt.
Disliked: Beds not comfortable to firm. One was softer than other we switched.No sufficient blanket. Blanket was more like a sheet. Pools were very crowded. Need adult pool or time only.No children after 9pm, would be nice.
