Wish we could have stayed...

Liked: The room was lovely, giant bed and large room. No airconditioning but it did have a fan. Easy parking outside. Connected to the pub for drinks and dinner, lots of locals and sports playing on the tv. Affordable meals. Great atmosphere. It felt good to know that if you needed assistance there was a number you could call. Easy check out, simply drop the key in the box.
Disliked: Air conditioning, but it was an unseasonable heatwave so understandable!

Satisfactory.

Liked: Location was perfect for haydock racecourse. Rooms were clean. It had a good bar and restaurant area with outside seating. The breakfast was average and nothing to write home about, but the staff were efficient and nice.
Disliked: The breakfast needs an uplift. I liked that when you went into the dining area, you could make your own tea, coffee, and toast. There was also cereal and fresh fruit juice. The breakfast like the egg and mushroom was undercooked, while the sausage was overcooked and a little tough. I would have preferred tinned tomato as opposed to the half fried tomato, but that is my preference. A small pot of beans is not sufficient for a cooked english breakfast either.

Very handy to racecourse and...

Liked: For future travellers this is actually in Ashton-in-Makerfield and not Haydock. It is close to Haydock racecourse. Walking distance to both the racecourse and Ashton.
Disliked: Manners of the breakfast staff

Liked: Near the racecourse for a day at the races.
Disliked: Nothing. All was great. Staff couldn’t do enough for you.
