Good for an overnight stay.

Liked: Simple but clean accommodations. Everything I needed. Very close to a BART station. Some stray cats were waiting outside my room to greet me :)
Disliked: Sketchy area. I liked the proximity to BART but didn’t feel very safe walking alone to the station, especially at night.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. No meals supplied but there are a couple of close-by convenience stores with hot food, cold drinks, and breakfast supplies. The room had a fridge and microwave to make it practical to prepare simple meals.This is an older motel-style hotel but the rooms have been extensively updated.Much cheaper than in San Francisco but only a few stations away on the BART which is a short walk away, and free buses circulate around Oakland, including to the Amtrak station.
Disliked: The area does not have a good reputation but I had no problem even late at night and there seems to be a strong community atmosphere. The food market near the Amtrak station is highly recommended.

Disappointing

Liked: The location was central located and had free parking right outside of the unit.
Disliked: The water pressure in the shower was horrible I could hardly wash the shampoo from my hair. I called the front desk and was told it was a county mandate I'm sure that was likely partially the case. Room had an odor that wasn't pleasant and everything spelt like it once we left. It wasn't my best stay and we will likely not return.
