Converted from an 18th-century farmstead Battlesteads is a stylish country inn with an 80-seat restaurant. It is set in beautiful countryside close to the Roman Wall. The traditional inn retains a Northumbrian country atmosphere with beamed ceilings and cozy wood burning stove. A light and airy conservatory opens onto a patio and walled garden. Rooms have private bathrooms Battlesteads is proud of its 'Green' credentials and has received a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

Great hotel great food.

Liked: The quality of the food and the room.
Disliked: It's hard to think of anything. A very minor point is that there didn't seem to be enough staff on duty when we arrived. Waiting around 8 minutes for someone to arrive and check us in. I'm nit picking as the visit was very good.
