Basecamp Tahoe City

Chilled vibe!

Liked: Big room with plenty of space to spread out, comfortable bed, hot shower, and good amenities. The communal areas are lovely and relaxing, and even serve beer - would be perfect if next time I bring a group of friends! Close to the lake with lots of food and bar options.
Disliked: My room had a connecting door to the room next door, which made me a little nervous as a solo female traveller.

Good Location

Liked: Really great spot, bar well stocked and a great seating area outside. Rooms were pretty comfy with decent mattresses. Really good powerful shower. Easy walk to amenities, food, stores etc. Pretty quiet, although some customers did get a bit loud
Disliked: Rooms are a bit tired and need of TLC. In our room the carpet was frayed and lifting.

Liked: Basecamp is a gem! I spent several nights there for a ski weekend and loved having a home away from home. It seems to have been a standard motor inn but has been redone to be more of a family vacation/backpacker hangout. The rooms are clean and the beds are delightful. It is nicely outfitted in a modern camping theme, with firepits and a shared deck and also a great little lounge, with a fire and tables to sit at and a small bar/snackbar and a microwave; also there is a large TV and board games. The location is great, it is right across the street from a CVS, a Safeway, a coffee shop, a breakfast place, and an entrance to the lakeside bike/walking path. Pretty much everything in Tahoe City is a short walk away no matter where you stay. The staff here are really nice, and I want to thank Casey in particular he was very accommodating.
