Liked: Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great for us being vegans and our children.
Disliked: Maybe the bathroom needed an update but it was still clean and usable. Shower pressure was intense.

Disliked: The mattresses were awful , sunken and we both had a bad nights sleep .Very narrow single beds for adults Such a shame

Lovely New Forest retreat stay

Liked: We chose Bartley Lodge for its ideal location and surrounding woodland and ease of cycling to local attractions such as Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. Loved the peace and quiet and stateliness of the Hotel.
Disliked: Loved the swimming pool, but could do with being ventilated adequately, and a little refurb. Great sloping entrance, ideal for little ones, in and very warm!

Liked: The location was great. Great looking property and large garden with garden view rooms. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Private parking. Swimming pool.
Disliked: There was no room cleaning/service. Toiletries and coffee/sugar were not replenished over stay. There was no hand wash kept and we bought one ourselves. Breakfast was very unpredictable. One day you get more items and another day you won't get enough even after reserving a time slot for breakfast. Thin walls and can hear dogs, people chatting.

Probably wouldn’t revisit

Liked: The house is a st bing property from outside, lovely gardens and location. Sadly the inside does not live up to expectations. It’s very tired looking and needs a lot of tlc. Really not a 4 star hotel and not worth the money we paid for two nights. The swimming pool is also really badly looked after - needs a real deep clean and revamp!

Exceptional

Liked: I love this country hotel. Informal and charming. I’ve been bringing my boys here for 15 years and we always love it. The gardens, the walks and the rooms, the pool and the classic room interiors.
Disliked: I think for dinner some candles in the table would be nice.

A peaceful beautiful venue and...

Liked: This is our 2nd visit to Bartley Lodge. We thought it was lovely relaxed atmosphere that we would return. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Plus Thank you so much for providing a bottle of water!! It’s such a relief as you always forgot to bring a bottle of water
Disliked: The property is great- for helpful feedback I would love some hand wash in the bathroom and the road humps coming into the property’s driveway would benefit with being highlighted in some sort of neon yellow paint to indicate to the drivers. It’s quite hard to see them. I’m not sure if that’s possible.
