Improvement needed but great potential

Liked: The location and the building was good. The rooms were very clean and exceptionally decorated. The bar and breakfast room were outstanding.
Disliked: The upper floors appeared to have hostel type guests which were very noisy and we were kept awake all night. Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful.

It was worth the price...

Liked: The room was adequate and the bed was very comfortable. It was clean
Disliked: The outside was in a poor state but reception and bar area was fine. We arrived back at about 10.15pm wanting a drink in the bar before retiring to our room. They had no lager to offer and the white wine was not chilled. We didn’t buy a drink and went to our room.

Served our purpose..

Liked: Very pleasant staff.. Helpful and polite..Very comfortable bed and nice linen..Restful and relaxed..Hot water and heating..Air conditioning available in room..Will return as convenient for us for family visits.
Disliked: Not very accessible for elderly or sight impaired..Series of awkward steps on stairways and no lift.Breakfast disappointing...Full English was tasty but cold. Served at our table within 2 or 3 minutes which unnerved us a little..Self service toast and drinks ..Toaster very slow !! and no marmalade (at 9.30) ..Milk and Juice jugs not very pristine .Filter coffee jug almost empty.We skipped breakfast after first morning..

Very poor

Liked: We stayed here for one night the heating was not working i went down to see one of the staff he said it should be on at 5 clock 2hours after still ain't come on so I went down again then he came back up to the room he looked at the radiator he said the pin had dropped so he came up with a blow heater. I don't I be staying here again

Needs renovation

Liked: Quick and easy to check in
Disliked: Old and out dated and needs renovation. But been like this for years.

Liked: Not much sadly. It is tired and in need of a complete overhaul. The staff are great however - helpful and attentive.
Disliked: It is tired, not the cleanest - old smelly and dirty carpets I think is the main problem. The reception area smelled like they had been there since before the smoking ban.The tv signal was useless.. thankfully, they have Netflix etc. so not a total loss.
