Very mixed feelings about our...

Disliked: The toilet in our bathroom was positioned in a corner making it difficult to use. There was a bottle in the room with 2 glasses and a note saying have a drink on us. The bottle was empty and when we asked they said they had run out. Our Irish coffee after our meal had been stirred up by the barman who said the cream did not float. Not good.

A most enjoyable stay.

Liked: The hotel far exceeded my expectations. I think it is fair to say it has had very mixed reviews! Do not let these put you off staying. We found the hotel, in the main, ran efficiently. It is ideally located to explore the area around Rutland Water. The rooms were clean and comfortable offering everything that is required during your stay. The breakfast, served in the lovely bright and airy Orangery, provided a good start to the day. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Exceptional

Liked: Arrived and booked in, told that our room was up 2 flights of stairs with no lift, because of our ages 82 -72 we asked if it was possible for a ground floor room? we were upgraded to a superior room at no extra charge without question. All of the staff were attentive and first class. Will definitely be staying there again.
Disliked: Only one tv channel( bbc). breakfast was only Lukewarm, should have been hotter.
