Very good

Liked: Lovely decor. Clean and smart. Evening meal good. Some staff excellent but others more mediocre.
Disliked: One bedside light faulty. Breakfast could have been better lot’s of items run out. Waitress smelt of smoke. Some staff were very helpful others did their job but could have been friendlier

Poor service and not worth...

Liked: The setting was idyllic and the restaurant for dinner was of a good quality.
Disliked: The breakfast was below average contrary to the promise of a superb breakfast. They kept running out of key breakfast items. We were not offered tea or coffee when we were greeted and had to find out by chance that we could request this at the bar. There was a poor selection of gluten free items and I had to ask several times for gluten free options as nothing was labelled. The scrambled eggs were sloppy and the bacon was cheap streaky bacon. This was not the quality of breakfast I would expect for the price range of this hotel. Also the spa is not complimentary to all guests. Only to guests who book directly with the hotel so it doesn’t mention that there is an extra (high) charge if you book on Booking.com. We went into the spa with no one checking or asking us too. They just put it on the bill on check out. The receptionist stated that Booking.com state the extra charge but it certainly was not on any of our booking emails or confirmation. Their website is misleading too as it states complimentary to hotel guests. One of the bedrooms had a sloping bed too.We found the reception to be not to be particularly welcoming on arrival and departure. All in all disappointing.
