Great location chilled servicr

Liked: Great location, close to Oakham, Rutland Water and Barnsdale Gardens.Hotel was clean, comfortable and relaxed whilst providing great attention to detail, courteous and seemless service.
Disliked: Room was quite hot when we arrived but this was soon remedied by opening windows to create through ventilation

Good location, clean and welcoming...

Liked: Location of hotel in relation to Oakham, Rutland Water and road access. Breakfast and Dinner were very good. Room was clean and reasonably well- appointed But see below. Bathroom and shower were good but, again, see below.
Disliked: Room was somewhat cramped due to need to fit into an older building layout. More power points are needed, together with better lighting arrangements and switches. The shower was good but the size and design mean water inevitably seeps under the door and onto the bathroom carpet. Great play was made by having a 'welcome' glass of wine and the remains of a bottle of Madera in the room - but still water and more glasses would have been preferable. Access to the room via a succession of stairs was inevitable but not welcome when carrying cases etc.

Lovely relaxing stay, we will...

Liked: The staff in the hotel and at the spa were lovely. I really enjoyed the outdoor pool, and the bed in our room was so comfy. Great food too!
Disliked: There needs to be more sunbeds for the outdoor pool area. They could have more of these for the grass areas and don't necessarily need them around the pool. The toilet hadn't been flushed when we arrived in room 3. The toilet seat and toilet roll holder were both loose and could do with replacing.

Delightful hotel

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Food and drinks were pricey, we thought, but to be fair we don't eat and drink out too much!

Nice hotel with good restaurant...

Liked: Dinner food menu and taste excellent.
Disliked: Dinner sat for 25 before order taken then food delivery extremely slow.Breakfast. Only 1 coffee/hot water machine and it was very slow. Need at least 2 machines. Food was all self service and whist ok it was not as good as expected.. visited the hotel 4 or 6 years ago and breakfast main course was served after order taken and it was freshly cooked and delicious! Not now, just ok.
