Very good

Liked: A wonderful place with blooming (early April) gardens. Comfortable and spacious rooms, at least in the main building. The wish for a quiet room was fully met. The reception staff was extremely attentive and friendly.
Disliked: Over the last 9 years (our last visit) the hotel restaurant has evolved into a more sophisticated dining venue, which has also been reflected in the prices, however the service in the restaurant does not fully meet this standard yet - for example, side dishes were served later than the main courses for no reason...

We will definitely return.

Liked: Upgrade to a beautiful room. Fabulous breakfast. Wonderful staff, especially Bronwen, who went out of her way to look after us.
Disliked: Nothing, everything was wonderful.

Not really what I was...

Liked: In my opinion not the 4 stars it claims. The fantastic building and situation are let down by several points. Sound proofing and light proofing, the rooms have no curtains (only blinds) so at night the security lights are very bright in the rooms and in the morning you are woken by the sun. Heater has no thermostat so it was either too hot or too cold. No bed side light. No telephone and food stops at 2030. All that would be ok but they charged me 6.18 GBP for a small bowl of crisps!!!
