Great value in pretty Pontefract

Liked: The location is v central and convenient for me. I liked the comfort of the bed, warmth of shower etc. Very good value for money. Great communication via the app with hotel staff.
Disliked: The fact we had to use a staircase and side entrance to access the hotel after 8pm. Also no access to reception after 8pm and in the morning. I had run out of loo roll so had to message to sort this. On the morning of my departure I needed to leave at 7.15am to make my coach from Wakefield down to London. The side door was stuck and a fellow hotel guest was distressed trying to open it. This is when having access to reception and staff would be handy. Another guest forced the door open but it was a stressful end to an otherwise great stay. Recommendations for breakfast places would be helpful too. Maybe an information sheet or guide would be good in each room. I asked in the excellent Robin Hood pub for breakfast ideas and was directed to Cromwells cafe which was brilliant.There was a lot of noise from the street at 3am as lorries noisily unloaded for an hour outside my window. Double glazing or eat plugs are needed.

Disliked: Absolutely disgusting room stunk bedding not clean pubes in bed and bottom of shower try mold on walls cups wasn't clean bought my own glasses to drink out of then left and booked elsewhere as it was that bad

Exceptional

Great customer service

Liked: The man who greeted me was great and his customer service was excellent. Answered my questions about local amenities and actually showed me to my room (very rare these days) Made me feel at home. Top bloke - Thankyou. The hotel is what it is - at a price which reflects that. Don't expect the Hilton at this price and you won't be disappointed... it was clean, tidy, cheap! (and in a central location, close to the motorway).
