Highly recommendable location--We would happily...
Liked: The neighborhood is really wonderful; Pleasant street; In walking distance for us (we are strong walkers for being old folks) to Stanley Park, English Bay, Coal Harbour, City Centre, Canada Place, and even Granville Island. Barclay House is an attractive, quaint building. The common sitting room and dining area are very attractive. The room we stayed in (Forest) is spacious. Breakfast was expertly cooked, elegantly presented, and the right size for us.
Disliked: The fixtures and furnishing were mostly good, but a mixed bag. For example, our washroom had an excellent bathtub as well as a good nightlight (a simple amenity too often missing), but it had no shelves on which to store our toiletries. The buildings on the street are closely spaced and our windows looked directly into neighboring apartments. One should be aware that the breakfast is a breakfast of the day, not a choice of various dishes or a buffet.
