Great stay and perfect for...

Liked: Location and proximity to the spa
Disliked: No breakfast in the actual building but next door at the spa

Disappointing

It was okay

Liked: The staff were super friendly and helpful
Disliked: I felt a little mislead, booked through booking and the gym was not included. On the advert posted like gym access would be included. Instead a very steep £15 per day for access and the gym itself wasn’t particularly impressive. When I checked in the person next to me also had the same impression and was also confused. Room was fine however, simple and clean so handy for work.

Liked: Location quite good, rooms relatively quiet.
Disliked: One room was extremely smelly, the reception gentle man said all other rooms were booked. He did some into the room at my request to smell the room. However he said he couldn't smell anything! Which really surprised me! We opened the windows that were closed and sprayed some air freshener and left for a few hours, which did improve the situation a bit.I didn't notice that there was an additional charge for the swimming pool, which is why we booked the hotel. Although that was my error it does say on the web-site that a minimal charge would be charged for the pool. I do not consider £15 per person a minimal charge!

Comfortable and welcoming stay

Liked: Large clean room with large TV. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for visiting Durham as there is a regular bus service from just outside the hotel. The health spa made a very tasty gluten-free breakfast, staff were very helpful.
Disliked: The shower was a little old fashioned, after a few cold shocks, I got the temperature I required but intermittently, It may take some time to learn how to use it properly.

Liked: Location was great, just off the motorway and 5 mins into Durham. Beds were very comfortable and there was a shopping centre within a few minutes walk.
Disliked: Quite dated

Liked: Good position good parking
Disliked: The room was too hot. If air on is not possible then a fan in every room is needed-Travel lodge can do it.It is noisy because of the A1 but that is a reasonable consequence of the position.

Liked: Staff are really friendly and helpful! rooms are spacious and comfortable. Good location.
Disliked: Shower leaked a bit and would have been nice to have a lamp in the room
