It's ok, but with improvements...

Liked: The room itself was great..Overall cleanliness was good but toilet brush had tissue stuck to it.
Disliked: The communal areas of the hotel could do with a bit of work. The breakfast room is not overly pleasant (very dull and dated with a slightly off putting smell (not the food) and the stairs was not vacuumed for several days by the look of it.As I didn;t fancy the breakfast room (staff were very friendly btw) I ate out most mornings.

Banks mansion is the greatest...

Liked: The hotel is close to everything. Has a wonderful, friendly knowledgable staff. The drinks, breakfast, snacks and cheese trolley are a huge perk.

Liked: The entire staff strives to make my stay excellent. I have stayed at the Banks 4 times and am never disappointed.

Disappointing for a hotel of...

Liked: Comfortable beds, location and constant supply of drinks during the day. Minibar when remembered to restock.
Disliked: Would not confirm twin beds, even after 4 emails. Meagre breakfast, not very healthy. Questionable management: sole lift on 5 storey hotel broken for over 24 hours; orange juice machine broken for 4 days; breakfast supplies erratic or non-existent eg cups, bowls, glasses, bacon, croissants, fruit all ran out half way through breakfast on 5 days. Hairdryer in bathroom with hold-down control-took over 10 min to dry hair and occupied bathroom (they did supply a proper hairdryer when asked but had to be returned immediately). Nothing for non-dairy, even though asked. there would be very little for vegans. Impossible for wheelchair users- too many steps. Very difficult for pushchairs too. Inaccurate directions given especially for pharmacy!
