Liked: Great room, great location

Perfect!

Liked: Quiet, spacious, well-located for a mid-journey stopover and very comfortable. Great breakfast too!

Even though the place itself...

Liked: The location is quite, and not difficult to find, not too far from the city.
Disliked: The host is rigid and not friendly to family travelers. I followed automatic selection on Booking.com and booked two rooms for 4 adults and 2 children, which turned out to be a room for 3 adults and 1 child, plus a room for 1 adult and 1 child. The host warned us that changing adult and child between rooms are prohibited, for which we need to pay 90 pounds. Even though afterwards, I manually checked Booking.com to know that the correct setup (2 adults and 2 children + 2 adults) offers the same rooms and costs only 10 pounds more.Plus, the bacon was super salty.

Enjoyed my brief stay.

Liked: Beautiful property in lovely rural area with extra-good country views. Rural location, but set well back from main road and easy to find. Room was better than most hotels, large, clean, rxcellent strong shower. Breakfast was good, and the other guests also seemed to like it. Fully recommended.
Disliked: The only problem we had (no fault of the owners) was with taxis. We were attending a function, and could not drive. But we spoke with friends and other locals, and taxi service in Strathaven in evenings is a permanent problem. Gave 9 instead of 10 on score, and that is only reason for the non-perfect score.
