Bally's Shreveport Casino & Hotel

Bellhop was rude when we checked out; clock had incorrect time; air condition was either too hot or way too cold; TV remote required multiple entries to accomplish the simplest of changes; when we complained, when checking out, the desk clerk tried to blame the short comings on Covid - how does a virus screw up the toilet, or leave cigarette butts in a room? Other hotels didn't have these personnel problems, so that excuse was road apples. I was offended that the desk clerk thought I was that stupid to actually believe her. In August my wife and I intend to go see another concert in Shreveport, but you can take to the bank we'll not stay at Bally's.

Liked: Quiet.
Disliked: No valet; had trouble getting a bellhop to check in; toilet worked poorly; cigarette butts in room; refused to help me get Uber, lift or cab; carpet was thread bare.

Liked: It was clean and comfortable
Disliked: My wife took a tub bath and the water would not drain.She tried using the hair dryer and it didn’t work.She wasn’t very happy about that.

Liked: The room was very large - especially the bathroom. Loved that it had an option of either the walk in shower or soaking in the tub. Being elderly, I opted for the shower. Did not hear any exterior noise which was appreciated.The casino - the Kong Skull Island slot machine was incredible. Not that it really paid out much, but just the graphics alone were astonishing. I have suggested to our local casino to maybe look into it.
Disliked: I understand the need for security in the floors accommodating the sleeping rooms, however, kept having an issue with the key card in the elevator. As for the room itself, some of the wallpaper was peeling from around the bathtub.There was some remodeling in the "breakfast area" so we were redirected to the second floor. That restaurant was great! Food was mostly good. I had a southwest omelet and the only thing I didn't like in it was the avocado. Don't get me wrong; I love avocado. But it must have soaked in lemon juice too long as that was the only taste I could discern. Plus I've never had avocado fried before...that would be a no go for me going forward. My spouse had a different breakfast course and loved it.In the casino, went to withdraw money from my account, but despite it showing it was dispensed, nothing came out. Thankfully, the cashier was able to help me out. The other issue was trying to figure out which floor if any was smoke free. Maybe needs better signage.

Disliked: People smoking pot and cigarettes in the rooms - the smell was all through the hall and came into my room, the toilet sounded like the tank was going to explode every time I flushed, and you need to update your facility.

Disliked: Pretty impersonal, staff not interested or welcoming.
