Lovely traditional Scottish hotel

Liked: Fantastic breakfast , and very comfortable riverside rooms, have stayed previously and would definitely recommend
Disliked: Cost of packed lunch was excessive, we went to a local shop to buy produce to make our own , other fisherman we met up with said and did the same

Liked: Staff were lovely and it was a superb location for our visit to the scottish game fair
Disliked: Breakfast was pre cooked and kept warm in servers, so eggs were hard and bacon cold.The food and drinks were very pricey although good , but bar food was too pricey and not enough.

Liked: Very comfortable old hotel with lovely situation and grounds.The B&B accommodation is excellent value.
Disliked: Dinner was poor, very expensive and for each course the plates were warmer than the food, very disappointing have had excellent dinners there in the past.

Disliked: Location for eating meals when visiting with a dog not ideal - separate dining room would be more suitable rather than behind the main stairwell

Charming but a little more...

Liked: The property is beautiful and lovely to walk about. The main hotel was lovely as well. The staff were very friendly. It had a Downtown abbey atmosphere. Lovely bar to meet fellow guests which was delightful.
Disliked: It was extremely remote with few or no close options for dining. The hotel dining options were pricey but i will say very delicious. The sportsman rooms had no amenities such as shampoo and the curtains did not keep out the light resulting in a very early rise. We didn’t get the feeling from booking.com that we would be in a low end room. Our clamping pods we tried for fun were better fixed and more comfortable.
