Lovely and comfortable location.
Liked: Very clean, perfect room. We were just there for a sleep and left before breakfast but all was lovely.
Disliked: Sat nav takes you up the incorrect street. Advised gentleman at reception

Complete disappointment
Liked: Location for Borders and relative closeness to Edinburgh.
Disliked: The housekeeping staff were poor. Unable to deliver appropriate number of towels, make beds and ensure milk for tea/coffee making being replenished rather than forgotten about. Service in the breakfast room extremely slow except on the last day. Three requests had to be made to get the correct amount of towels. The Management clearly knew they had an issue with the housekeeping staff but nothing improved over the three night stay. Plus the fact the Hotel provides no wardrobes only a hook behind the bedroom door and one in the bathroom. The Booking.com description of the rooms bore no resemblance to the actuality. Our room was described as a suite. The Hotel offers no suites only rooms. The Hotel has issues with Booking.com and we had issues both with Booking.com and the Hotel.

Amazing stay, good location
Liked: Location good. Walkable to Hawick and close to main roads to explore. Breakfast was amazing & good quality. Chef Bob was amazing & recommended local place for evening meal. Has private parking & feels like in country estate. We stayed in a lodge and very good size. Amazingly clean. Staff were friendly..
Disliked: Small niggles but could do with a blind on the bathroom window in lodge. It looks out to back car park, but if light is on, can see through frosted glass (& cat patk used at night). Also, the toilet seat was a little wobbly (new but didn't seem to fit or was not fitted correctly). Lastly, if an event is on during the day / early evening, parking can be a little tight. Locally, in Hawick and the Borders, the shops close from 1 pm on Saturday, but loads of places to walk & explore

Very good
Liked: Nice setting with parking and short walk into town and local park and museum.Large room with view of gardens.Nice breakfast.
Disliked: When booking in the gent at reception made no mention of when and where breakfast was served, made no mention or enquired about us requiring evening meal. Also no mention of a bar in the hotel. We had to ask this when we came back in after a walk and finding a Weatherspoons in town to eat at. Guy at Reception came across as quite short with us.Could have done with towel radiator being on as we showered after driving and being out for a walk and our towels were still damp in the morning. We had clean towels on the radiator but found the following morning on the back of the bathroom door towels and bathrobes which had obviously been used by the previous occupants of the room. Very disappointing to find this.

Disliked: The noise i didn't know there was going to be building work ongoing and a constant dog barking asked for a room change and advised no and advised we could tell them to keep it down which is not appropriate the breakfast wasn't that nice and smelled like burnt old fat

Almost wonderful
Liked: Comfortable bed, relaxed surroundings and great breakfast.
Disliked: Encountered a member of staff upon check out who discussed, without inhibition, his views on immigration. Such topics should not be discussed with paying guests at a hotel and it tainted the lovely stay we had.
