Liked: Serves its purpose. Good location. Happy hour was decent.
Disliked: Rules were given to us at check in. Not allowed alcohol or smoking around pool area- however guests smoking and grinding marijuana on the tables and staff vaping around pool.Bathroom could do with renovation- no door on the bathroom stall and very grubby- beer and razors often left behind in the bathroom. Other guests very inconsiderate- shouting and playing music at 5am- waking us up- again being told no loud behaviour after midnight. The room had such a strong smell of paint and residue left on curtains- curtains that did not meet in the middle and left an exposed gap into the room.Staff member came into room while we were asleep thinking the room was empty. Very jolting and could've communicated better with staff members- totally not appropriate.

Liked: Absolutely loved my stay at Backpackers in Paradise! The atmosphere is amazing – super friendly and full of great vibes. The staff are incredibly helpful and always ready with a smile, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The rooms and facilities are clean, comfortable, and perfect for backpackers. The common areas are spacious and fun, with plenty of activities and opportunities to meet new people from all over the world. The location is ideal – just a short walk to the beach, shops, and nightlife. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Gold Coast

Liked: Good location and friendly staff.
Disliked: Initially we were put in a room with mould and bugs, it was not like the pictures. We spoke to reception and they gave us another room, which was a lot better, I appreciate them solving the issue promptly. It felt a little dirty with hairs in a lot of places, and the facilities felt dated. The room was very cold with windows that didn’t close, we hadn’t realised there were spare blankets available until checking out. Noise outside the room from other guests went on till very late, didn’t help the windows didn’t close, this is on the guests not the establishment.
