Liked: Closeness to city, friendly staff. Few formalities and no issues.
Disliked: Paid for parking- 15 pounds for 11am-11am is ridiculously expensive for private parking 200 yards from free parking. I mean, come on! 1,50, or try 5 pounds a day.

Instead, it’s a room that encourages you to get out and see the city, because you don’t want to spend an extra minute in the room that you don’t have to.

Very pleasant with good facilities...

Liked: The welcome was very pleasant and all information given was helpful - thank you Joseph! The room was a nice size and the facilities good. Breakfast was cooked to order, unusual these days, and was very nice. The walk into the city was not too long and everything was to hand. To round off the day, the bar was of similar pricing to the local pub with a reasonable selection of drinks. On the whole, highly recommended.
Disliked: Two things were a shade annoying; firstly, no soft-closing doors in the corridors (all close with a bang) and secondly, the door catch on my room could be more secure.

Superb

Liked: Breakfast really good and plenty of choice. Joseph on reception recognised me from a previous visit and we chatted about shared interests. The property is a reasonable distance to walk from York City centre
Disliked: I don't like having to pay £10 a night to park at the hotel and I believe it's increasing to £15 soon.

Good location in York

Liked: We booked 2 rooms and it was for one night only. This place was busy but everything seemed to work efficiently with check-in and breakfast. Good quality breakfast but only had coffee machine so quality was only okay. Size of the room was average. Easy walk to Minster and Shambles markets.
Disliked: UK properties need to learn to have decent window coverings, heavy curtains or block out blinds particularly on long summer days when the sun rises before 5am and sets about 10pm!Parking was £15 a night. Nearly as much as an Edinburgh hotel.
