Decent Stay in Alpine

Liked: Breakfast was very good - hot and cold dishes. Pool and hot spa were a great addition to our trip.

Served the purpose, but unremarkable.

Liked: We came to this area to attend a group golf event at Singing Hills resort--about ten miles away. We chose Ayres Lodge because it was the closest lodging to Singing Hills that took pets. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast is good. They did not charge extra for our house cat.
Disliked: The room was as small as we have every stayed in. We have stayed in larger, more comfortable at Motel. The bathroom barely had enough room for the toilet and bathtub/shower. The microwave was on a shelf so high (she's 5'3" tall) that it was difficult for her to use. The pillows go completely flat. Bring your own. By the time California's politicians got done with the taxes, $200+ a night made it a marginal value. They couldn't give me a printed receipt as their printer was broken, and I still have received the one promised by email.

Liked: The staff crew are Amazing. Both Heather and Sherrie front desk ladies were very professional, polite and compassionate. The other front desk ladies were very sweet as well. The overall place is pretty, very clean, Koi Pond, and water stream outside our window..very clean and refreshing swimming pool /hot tub with fresh towels at hand. Breakfast and beverage bar very welcoming. Thank you for making us feel at home! XOXO
Disliked: Some what pricey. No microwave or small refrigerator. Was quoted a suite=2 Queen beds and pull out sofa....only got 2 Queen beds and a small coffee maker . Need a "LUGGAGE CART" for easy transport to our rooms...especially to back units..for Handicap and those just too tired making trips back and forth to our room/rooms.!!!!!!

Liked: Breakfast was okay! I like it that they kept the dining room with the food there beyond the time stated. The dining room staff are courteous. The front desk people are very helpful and accommodating.Loved the fresh apples they provided for guests on the living room great table. The hotel have complete amenities, heated pool, hot breakfast, cookies on the evenings, fresh apples on the living room great table, laundry room, free fast internet, free parking! We also enjoyed shopping at Viejas Mall and play bowling there. Alpine is a charming, and quiet small town. Our deluxe double queen room is great! Thank you so much

Liked: The hotel was very clean. The location was safe and close to a small shopping area with restaurant. The bathrooms and shower were all working well.
Disliked: The breakfast was lacking. No selection of fresh fruits except for bananas and oranges. Cereals was lacking as well. Bread selection was minimal. The breakfast was the same every day. Also it is far from any tourist locations. You have to drive like 1hrs to anywhere BIG or touristy. We stayed here because we were visiting friends. The rooms have no fridge or microwave, so you can't keep things cold over night or make popcorn for a snack.

All in all a great...

Liked: The breakfast was a combination hot/continental style, very ample with cold cereals to bacon, biscuit and gravy, to orange juice, milk, coffee, yogurts and bagels . Excellent value. The location was right off the freeway, I-8, and an easy return to continue onto San Diego. Would definitely return again
Disliked: I like that it was just off the freeway , others may not.
