You get what you pay...

Liked: We booked this hotel with the intention of staying near Dutch Wonderland. The location was excellent, and we could’ve walked to the park if we wanted! The facilities were clean and well maintained. The indoor pool was a nice treat since there happened to be a heat wave during our visit. The receptionist at the front desk during check in was lovely!
Disliked: We booked two rooms. One room was incredibly hot! The wall thermostat was turned on and the room became mostly comfortable. The windows have two sets of blinds, one that is sheer and then another that is black out. The black out shade was missing entirely from one room, making the room hotter than usual and also making the room very bright! Nobody was able to sleep past sunrise at 5 am because of all the light coming into the room. We didn’t notice the blackout blind was missing until bedtime, at which point the kids were tuckered out and it would’ve been more of a hassle to switch rooms at that point.Now for the second room, it was the opposite problem. It was freezing!! The AC kept blasting on and off through the night. I kept turning the wall thermostat up and eventually put it up to 80° and still, it kept blasting cold air. I turned it off with the hope of the room warming up, but nope, didn’t help. I couldn’t find any additional blankets in the room either. Eventually at around midnight and a couple hours of trying to sleep, I got up to put a towel on the vents of the AC unit when I saw that this room was not controlled by the wall thermostat whatsoever. I guess the wall thermostat was for show? The AC unit in the room had a panel that was covered. Once I lifted the cover, to my surprise, it was set to 60°! Once I bumped that up to 68°, we were able to actually sleep.Breakfast was okay. Nothing to rave about. What turned me off however was the staff at breakfast. Two of us are allergic to dairy and peanuts. When I asked about what at breakfast was allergy friendly, the two staff members who were stocking the breakfast bar looked at me like I was crazy and snapped that there was nothing without dairy. I was shocked at their response, not at what was said, but how they said it. It was almost as if it was wrong of me to have asked.

Liked: I liked the fact that their nice pool stayed open till 10pm.The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. The young man at the front desk was very personable and helpful.The lobby is VERY family friendly. The coffee/hot chocolate bar 24/7 was VERY convenient.Mostly, the value for the 2 rooms I reserved was very good! We will be back soon!
