Avalon Hotel Downtown St. Petersburg

I loved the decorating of the hotel - it was a cool place to stay and an easy walk to downtown. I had a great view from my room. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely book again.

Liked: Checking into the hotel was very friendly and warming. I was given all sorts of helpful information. The staff were excellent.
Disliked: The bathroom door in room was very hard to close.

Disliked: The rooms smelled like onions and musty odor. It was very run down, the bed was very springy, knats all in the room. The toilet was made for a child, tiny in size. Overall just disappointed.

Disliked: This property has a very “ public “ pool. The pool is not on the property listed for guests, it is next door(pool party’s, hundreds packed from the surrounding area in the evenings) . I was disappointed in no basic hotel amenities . Things you would usually find in a very basic cheap hotel chain lacked through my stay. No mini fridge, very limited travel size bottles in bathroom, 4 night stay ( no sheet change ) , very small trash cans ( changed only a handful of times).

Cute property and very convenient...

Liked: The property was really quaint and lived the boutique feel. It was close to everything I wanted to do and downtown. I like that it is a sister hotel of Hollander so you can use all amenities including pool.
Disliked: There was not a fridge or microwave or even a coffee pot. At least a coffee pot would’ve been nice.
