Auldgirth Inn

Blown away by the quality...

Liked: Absolutely amazing dinner in the restaurant worth staying just for this. Who would have guessed food of this quality in such an unassuming location. We were looking for a mid way point to break our journey and we chose the Auldgirth Inn on location and the fact we could eat dinner there. We had no idea how good the food was going to be!A lovely big bathroom although dated.Good breakfast included.Good value for money.
Disliked: The room was compact and the way it was laid out there was no bedside table on my side! But $ per Square meter still very cheap! We found the mattress too firm, this sounds picky but that is the one thing you want to be comfortable in a hotel room.

A very nice start to...

Liked: We had a very nice stay at the Auldgirth Inn! Were welcomed kindly! Restaurant was exceptionally closed but got help to have diner which we very much appreciated.The rooms are spacious and well equiped. Very comfy beds and also the bathrooms are equiped as needed!Breakfast made to order and very tasty! For sure a lovely place to stay. Would certainly come back!

A good spot for a...

Liked: Plenty parking, nice room but no terrace despite the description saying it had one. Everything else was very good though.
Disliked: I thought I’d booked a room with a private terrace

Liked: First of all I want to thank the staff at the Auldgirth Inn for offering me a refund after explaining that the restaurant would not be serving evening meals,the reviews for food were instrumental in us choosing the Auldgirth.
Disliked: OYO ,I can't put into words how disgusting they have behaved avoid OYO at all cost. This has nothing at all to do with The Aulgirth Inn they have behaved impeccable throughout. We booked the Aulgirth Inn based on the fabulous food reviews ,my wife and I are in our mid 50's and we're arriving after over 3.5 hours on a motorbike, our plan was to arrive shower eat on site then go to bed. The Aulgirth Inn contacted us direct and explained that the restaurant would not be serving evening meals. The Inn is a little isolated which was fine when we could eat there but would mean getting geared up again and an hour round trip for food ,not what you want after 3.5 hours in the saddle. We contacted OYO who ,after speaking to the Inn offered us a full refund ,they would msg myself and Booking.com the next day.I was thrilled and immediately booked another Hotel in Dumfries that offered on site dining ,job done,or so I thought .The following day a string of messages from OYO going back on their offer and refusing the refund. I was gobsmacked ,I contacted both OYO and Booking.com but OYO refuse to refund my money . Today I contacted the Auldgirth Inn they were extremely polite and understanding ,imagine my shock to discover that OYO have pocketed the £130 booking fee and not only refused to refund me but haven't even paid the Auldgirth Inn? Absolutely disgusting please please Avoid this company.
