Good Location at the right...
Liked: The motel surrounds aren't inviting, and the smallish room decor is challenging, but the room was very clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The bus stop right out front make getting to the metro and downtown Montreal very easy. A nice shopping/cafe area on Rue Sherbrook is an easy 15 minute walk away via Rue Melrose. In all it made the motel very good value for money.

Liked: Very nice staff. Room was nice and big. Bathroom was huge and gorgeous. Lots of parking.
Disliked: Traffic was awful getting into the city from here. It took us an hour to drive somewhere 15 minutes away. Everything was great besides the drive.

Not Cookie-cutter, by a long...
Liked: No cookie-cutter motel here! My room is just amazing. And that bathroom!
This room smelled so fresh! Not the cover-up-spray kind of fresh ? the fresh that only comes from proper cleaning. The faux wood floors were spotless (subtle gold metallic baseboards and door frames, by the way!) The walls were freshly painted. I didn?t see a hint of dust anywhere. The bed was ?dressed? in a smart black and white spread that was pristine and smelled good. Obviously just washed! The bed linens on the platform bed were of nice quality cotton. Lots of comfy pillows. Instead of a ratty old chair by the window ? a black chaise! Wow! So comfortable. And perfect for watching the flat screen television. A fold out bistro table with high bar stools took the place of the standard round table with chair that one usually finds. Love the retro wallpaper behind the bed! Microwave ? check. Working refrigerator ? check.
The bathroom has trendy faux wood floors, excellent lighting over the vintage sink cabinet, and a modern water-saving toilet. The shower is a dream come true after a long day of traveling. It?s a huge walk-in, glass-enclosed, with a nice, powerful shower head.
So much for the glowing review. There were two problems, both of which kept me awake. The walls are thin, and I could hear every step that the upstairs guests took. It didn?t help that they were extraordinarily noisy and inconsiderate. The second problem was the vertical blinds. They could have benefited greatly from some light-blocking draperies, but then I? m very sensitive to light. To the motel?s credit, the outside lights dim if there is no activity and come on bright when they detect movement. Brilliant!! And money-saving.
Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat. I?ve paid more than twice as much for a room that wasn?t as nice as this one.
Disliked: Thin walls allowed you to hear noisy neighbors.

It was a great place...
Liked: The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and looked nice. More like a small hotel. They were very accommodating even though they were completely booked. The TV even worked! There was a parking lot and was right next to a bus stop that rings you downtown!
