The hotel lobby was excellent - very well decorated and modern. The Cannery restaurant was excellent as well. Our room was very nice, hardwood floors and a gorgeous glass doored walk in shower. The view wasn't great as we were in the back of the building but it was only overnight so not really a problem. The food and service were wonderful, we enjoyed a super lovely meal before attending the concert. The only negative thing was the parking garage, it was narrow, deep and scary. The little elevator to take you to the lobby was truly frightening and I wouldn't use it a second time, I used the stairs instead. Plus the cost, $25 for over night. I understand it's in the city but honestly that was way too costly, we were in what was classified as a Gold room so received a $20 credit to use at The Cannery, which didn't make up for the cost of parking!

Liked: The room was clean, cool and beautifully appointed.
Disliked: The parking garage was terrifying. The door was not set properly and made a horrible screeching sound when opening and closing.

We choose the Atlantica because we were headed to an event at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium and wanted to be within walking distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We liked the underground parking though it is a bit expensive on top of the room cost. We will certainly use the Atlantica again.

Great location but not worth...

Liked: The location is central and accessible to all other main areas in Halifax, especially if you are visiting Dalhousie University area.
Disliked: The beds were uncomfortable as they were sagging. The hotel housekeeping was terrible. Toiletries, coffee, cups, and other items were not replaced/refilled. The bed sheets were not pulled on properly so we had to pull it on every night before going to bed. A floor stain from the A/C condensation was not cleaned until our 3rd day in the room. The 2nd floor has the pool and exercise room, so there are a lot of kids' noises with the thin walls. Requested room change every day, but always "fully booked" until the final night when I insisted on talking to a manager after a minor flooding in the room.
