Poor value for money, not...

Liked: It has a seafront location in a fairly grand looking Victorian pastel shade stuccoed building. Our room was top floor (no lift) and had a sea view. The reception areas and common areas (the staircase) are underwhelming but ok. First impressions of the room are acceptable, reasonable size, ok furnishings and decor, things look clean enough, tea and coffee with a kettle, a comfy chair, some cushions and a throw on the bed, a fridge, places to put things.
Disliked: The plumbing. We had room 11. The shower was weak at best and a dribble much of the time, the water took an age to get warm, the basin tap was never better than a dribble. Decent plumbing is a threshold matter, if you don't have that and you want to charge relatively premium rates then you deserve a bad review. Other moans, no biscuit with the tea/coffee, poorly fitted radiator in the main room (rammed against the wall so air cannot easily circulate around it), no heat at all in the en-suite which is badly laid out. Thin walls, conversations and movement in nearby rooms very noticeable.

Liked: The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was well kitted out
Disliked: There is only stairs which wasn’t a problem for us but did have to help others with their luggage. Check which floor you are on

Exceptional

Liked: Overall great surrounding area has the usual down and outs knocking around

A lovely night's rest, in...

Liked: a beautiful Victorian property, on the seafront, very close to coffee shops & restaurants. Room was beautiful, great bed and lovely bathroom with a decent hairdryer.
Disliked: I would have liked a ful length mirror. The shower was adequate but could have done with a little more power.
