Great central hotel

Liked: Breakfast was amazing - best croissants ever, so big and fresh and good quality layers. I would come back for the croissants alone. Super friendly staff, all of them were happy and wanted to help in some way or another or make nice general chit chat. They held our luggage for us before check in and again after check out free of charge. The room was spacious, shower was powerful and in room amenities were fab and topped up daily (toiletries, tea bags & biscuits ect). There is a hairdryer and kettle and plenty of plugs (just not near the beds or bedside table). Plenty of towels & toilet paper and the room felt safe and secure.
Disliked: The air con wasn’t working and so we were given a portable fan which was ok but just blew hot air about the room which wasn’t ideal as it was 32 degrees all weekend.. not their fault as they are waiting for missing parts

Liked: Friendly staff, great location and complimentary breakfast was excellent
Disliked: No lifts but as is in an old building that is understandable and the staff were happy to help us with our luggage.

Great place to stay near...

Liked: Great location, great neighborhood safe well maintained close to Victoria bus & train/ underground. Nice shops, grocery, pubs and restaurants.
Disliked: Unfortunately there was a problem with the AC unit. But, the staff was wonderful and tried to accommodate guests. They moved us to another room when it became available. Great service!!

Unsatisfactory

Liked: The room itself was clean. However, this was the only positive of the stay.
Disliked: We were placed on the top floor and not made aware at the point of checking in that the air conditioning was not working in the room we were assigned. It was over 30 degrees in London at the time of our stay and being 20 weeks pregnant this made the room unbearable. In the room there was a small fan that was not powerful nor blew cold air, therefore did not help. We raised this with reception on our first day and they explained that they knew the air conditioning was not working and were waiting on parts. Provision of an additional fan was declined. On the two days running of our stay we had no hot water for showers. When we informed reception we were told there was a fault with the boiler and they had to keep resetting it. Again, this was not openly communicated until we complained. Upon checking out, we expressed our disappointment with our stay and that had the issues been communicated prior to checking in, we would have looked for an alternative place to stay. No resolution was provided by the hotel or staff for any of the issues that we raised. Overall an extremely unsatisfactory stay.

Liked: The staff was very helpful.
Disliked: I would have liked an elevator, although it’s hard to implement in most buildings in London.

Good

Liked: Good location for where I needed to be. Lovely bathroom with good shower.
Disliked: However, my room was in the building next door, on the ground floor right beside the door to the building which banged every time someone went in or out, so try to avoid room 204!

Very comfortable and tasty breakfast....

Liked: Beautiful rooms, clean tidy and had everything we needed..Breakfast was spot on and delish.
