Great breakfast and location!
Liked: Great breakfast and close to University of Cambridge
Disliked: A bit warm during two of the days we stayed there because of the summer sun and no aircon

Very good
Liked: The location was good, the bed very comfortable
Disliked: We are in our late 60's and were put on the top floor. There is no lift and we had to carry a suitcase up there. Rooms on the stop should be allocated to younger people.

Another walkable stay with plenty...
Liked: Able to walk to parks and old town area. Had heaps of parking and allowed us to keep car parked for hours after check out so we could explore area some more. Breakfast was great and morning staff really helpful.
Disliked: Too many narrow stairs. Room was on top floor and place didn’t seem busy enough for all rooms to be full. Asked about lower floor but night staff said none available. Real or too hard?

Very good
Liked: I stayed in this hotel to attend a conference in town. I'm very happy about my choice: the rooms were clean, the staff, especially the cleaning staff, were nice and welcoming. The position of the hotel is also not too bad - quiet area, only a 15 min walk from the centre, and well-connected to public transport. The only things that I would perhaps change are the fact of giving dairy free options at breakfast and maybe fresh fruit, as the continental breakfast option were just bit limited. However, the hotel does advertise a full English breakfast, and that was indeed served :). The other soft spot was the wifi connection, which tended to be a bit spotty when used in the room - the presence of a TV, however, is a nice compromise in case you can't use your device. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a short stay, as the money - value ratio is satisfying.

Avoid during a heatwave!
Liked: On the face of it, very good valuable given a (highly satisfying) breakfast was included. Reasonable location too, Cambridge city centre a 20 min walk and is an easy route for pedestrians. Shower also very good pressure and temperature once you work it out.
Disliked: A few things unfortunately let the hotel down:1) on arrival (in the middle of a summer heatwave as well), I was advised my bedroom windows could not open for security reasons, presumably due to being on the ground floor. This needs a better solution as the result was a very stuffy room and very hot, which negated how comfortable the bed was. They provided a very old fan which worked fine but was unfortunately covered in thick dust.2) cleanliness. On the surface, the room was clean, towels immaculate as were the sheets. But dust was the issue. The phone was dusty and the fan they provided was covered in very very thick dust. It was so bad I had to clean it myself before using so it didn’t blow dust everywhere and cause me a coughing fit. The bathroom as well felt like the cleaners had missed the fine details. Between the tiles, a lot of mould was growing (see photos), which the lack of airflow in the room probably didn’t help.I appreciate the hotel is good value for Cambridge, especially as my funding institution had a limited budget. I would recommend instead spending a bit more and staying in one of the city’s reliable premier inns. The decor was also very tired and outdated but that can be forgiven in view of the price point.
