Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast was excellent and just what we need before a long bike ride. Room small but had everything we needed and a very comfortable bed
Disliked: We were in room 2 which is directly above the bar area which now appears to have become the local pub resulting in us being unable to sleep until gone 12:30 due to the noise from downstairs had we known it was a pub and not a licensed hotel we would not have booked for that reason. The management were very sympathetic to our displeasure in the morning and handled the situation very well.On a different note there was a very limited evening choice of food which was the only option in the village unless it had been pre booked and there was no village store

Unique Little Place

Liked: I love these little Scottish hotels. They are generally in need of some TLC and are mostly past their prime, but they have a certain charm and the welcome is warm and genuine. Quirky rooms, lovely staff and a good selection of beers and whiskies at the little bar. They didn't do food, apart from the continental breakfast, but there are options nearby if you book ahead.
