Pleasant
Liked: Great location. Pleasant 10 minute walk across Jesus Green to centre of Cambridge.
Disliked: Continental breakfast disappointing. Threadbare stair carpets. That said, hotel seemed full judging by cars in the car park and at the end of the day, it is not that expensive.

Accommodations unacceptable..not as advertised ....
Disliked: Very disappointing /misleading accommodations and unprofessional! Were taken to a much lesser building well behind what is advertised and up steep narrow stairway to a very small room. Our personal clothing, suitcases were touched and moved while out of room! Unacceptable!

Have a shower before your...
Disliked: The shower didn’t work. There was no water at all the first day, and, after letting the staff know, we only had a trickle of cold water on the second day.

A place for a very...
Liked: The positiion - facing the park and the river accross the street, close to the city centre. The architecture - a classic british style buiilding with a nice terrace and old style interiorThe location is clean, bads are comfortable. There is a bus station at 500 m or more with bus 1 taking you to the railway station
Disliked: Unrenovated hotel. Poor breackfast - the exact same few things every morning, No ventilation inside, no air conditioned - the food smells were felt in the restaurant heavily, a bad and persistent smelll wes in the room, probably because of the old furniture and carpets. There is a tinny TV badly placed on the wall so you could watch only standing or sitting on the chair. Only a fewbchannels all british axaillable. There ia no fridge in the room. The employees were reluctant to help you change the room. They had reassons like "we are fully booked" or "I have to talk to the manager".The rooms are displayed strangely on very small hallways with extra doors closing them. This is keeping the smells inside amd splits everyone - not good for groups that want to.stay together. There are no nets at the windows to ptotect you from bugs. You have to open the windows though to have clean and maybe cold air.You can hear the footsteps in the room above and other noises.

Disappointing
Liked: The location.
Disliked: The hotel charges the most it can get away with but despite that provides no perks or courtesies for guests. Want parking? Pay extra - fair enough - but £18 doesn't cover a 24h period, so when you check out, your car can't remain while you sightsee a little bit more. Breakfast is pitiful. Really poor selection. And so little food people were queuing and milling around waiting for refills. Want hot food? Pay extra.Room cleaned? Not sure if this was them trying it on.... but we got a note through the door apologising that our room wouldn't be cleaned because of staff sickness. We paid £240/day for peak season, so we said, "How much are you going to compensate us?"... ...the cleaner was suddenly available. On the whole, this hotel disappointed me. It could have been cheery and friendly and quirky. The staff were very polite but it was clear there were not enough of them, so extra niceties were absent - for example, a rather lovely garden had chairs lent against tables rather than being set up invitingly for breakfast.
