Liked: Superb location. Nice area of the city, conveniently close to S Bahn S3 and S9, with lots of close by restaurants & bars. At check-in the staff member was very welcoming, and was able to give me several vegan restaurant options - I’d particularly recommend Vegang, on Kant Strasse.
Disliked: Only criticism is that my room, 3, was directly adjacent the reception and close to the breakfast room so there was some noise first thing in the morning as staff prepared for the day ahead.

Liked: Art nouveau building and was well maintained. A 4th floor hotel - quiet and friendly The staff were helpful and the breakfast fabulous - a wonderful variety of good quality food.

Wonderfully decorated period apartment hotel.

Liked: The hotel is in an old apartment building on the 4th floor. The notice in our bathroom reminds us that it is (was, surely) an upper-middle class apartment owned by a family who managed to flee before the war started. Our room (17) was on the second floor, and we can only guess that it was acquired after the hotel was set up. The lift connecting the floors is original, with wrought iron and wood and moves silently between floors. Our bed was (thankfully) not rubber, was nice and firm and overlooking a tree filling the courtyard at the back. They have an honesty bar, which was nice, as there are no staff on site after 8pm.
Disliked: The breakfast room on the 4th floor was small, crowded and awkward to navigate if more than two people were up wandering between tables for food and coffee. Being in a room downstairs we felt disconnected and staff seemed never able to remember our room numbers. We were the only gay British couple staying there.

Liked: The perfect hotel to use as a base to explore Berlin. Step back in time to enjoy a truly beautiful art nouveau experience. Positioned on three floors within a beautiful apartment building, this was such a lovely place to stay. We are two friends who stayed for a week in Berlin and we were given the two biggest rooms which were gorgeous. I felt like royalty waking up to the sunshine in my glorious room with high ceilings and so much space, it was like an apartment. The breakfast room is equally charming. The honour bar came in very handy in the evenings after dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. We found the location exceptional with Savignyplatz station only a few minutes walk away, taking you almost anywhere in the city. Some days we used Lime Bikes to ride home through the Tiergarten. Staff were lovely and we really didn’t want to leave this beautiful hotel.
