Disastrous at first but ended...
Liked: The comfort of the matrasses, the kindness of the reception manager that made us feel more welcomed and made our stay more enjoyable as we were celebrating an important birthday.The hotel is clean and not noisy despite having lots of guests.
Disliked: The very unwelcoming first impression we got when we arrived. The receptionnist was being overzealous and forbid us to have our daughter's visit in our room quite rudely, despite we were celebrating a big birthday. She wouldn't hear anything about the context or consider our old age. It brought a lot of useless stress and tension and made us feel like we were talking to a machine. "This is not allowed, it's our rules." When my daughter told her we didn't know because otherwise we wouldnt have booked there, she just replied "It's written on our site.".The best she offered was negociating a one time 10 min visit with her manager.Fortunately her manager was very very sweet (both at the check in and the check out) and allowed us to have a visit, didn't make a big deal out of it, and upgraded our room to a suite as we wished for a room located in higher levels of the hotel. It it wasn't for her, our stay would have been ruined.About our stay, our only complaint was about the pillows, we couldn't sleep well as they were very high and dense. There were two sets of pillows but both were the same.

Liked: The location was perfect and the staff was very attentive especially those waiters and waitress in the restaurant. The lobby is beautifull, clean and big. The room was big and clean. I would surely return to this hotel.
Disliked: There was no iron or iron board in the room. You could request thou. It would be nice if the hotel would provide showercap, hairconditioner etz etz and other necesaties in the bathroom. But the fact that the hotelbathroom is not fully equipt doesn't take anything from the exceptional good time we had at the hotel.

Happy Surprise in Rotterdam.
Liked: Large, beautifully appointed room. Large comfortable bed. Fantastic location with Metro and tram stops at the front door. Superb elevator service Quality windows made for a quiet room despite constant heavy traffic in the area. Very competitive pricing for this quality
Disliked: Restaurant is attached to the hotel. Breakfast for 17Euros is high even for Europe. Restaurant billing is separate from hotel. Convenient but limited outside Italian fare and noticeably high priced.
