Liked: Location close to public transport and supermarket. Breakfast and kitchenette were exceptional. Very friendly hosts. On-site parking was safe and secure. Beautiful home.
Disliked: Lack of heating the first day.

A warm welcome and very...

Liked: A very warm welcome from the host who took time to explain all the available facilities and provided recommendations for an evening meal. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Access to a separate kitchen area was useful. We also had access to an outdoor patio area which was appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and cooked to order. Good location for exploring Derry/ Londonderry.
Disliked: En-suite to our room was a little small but functional and well equipped.

ARKLE HOUSE WOULD BE HARD...

Liked: What a beautiful place to stay!!! Our stay at Arkle House was delightful from start to finish. Our hosts were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything a traveler could want. The breakfasts were amazing with fresh croissants, pancakes, fruit salad, yoghurt, cereal, etc, etc and then we were served an Irish breakfast as well.
Disliked: Beautifully decorated with a lot of character

Liked: The decor was very cute. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this site to family and friends.

Disappointing follow up to experience

Liked: Convenience to where I needed to be.
Disliked: I've held off writing this review despite receiving a phone call from the owner a couple of days after I checked out who advised me that he was going to respond to my review on their website which I cannot find and I haven't received any sort of written apology except for " a free night stay" when I'm back but upon reflection I was told it wouldn't be in the family room because its " more expensive" even though I paid for two nights in the family room at the cost of 250 in total. Not having the feedback after the phone call has annoyed me as such as I explained I was a former hotelier, but I now will not take up their offer of a free night and simply let the matter rest and I just won't stay or encourage others to say. Derry is a small place. As for my experience I won't share it here as I gave my word to the owner that I wouldn't but I am disappointed in the follow up. He has my card details and if anything now at this point should offer a partial refund.

We would stay here again...

Liked: Lovely house, lovely hosts, lovely room and lovely breakfast. Excellent place to stay.
Disliked: There was nothing that we didnt like..It was wonderful.
