Liked: I supplied my own breakfast, but there wasn’t a bowl or spoon in the room. The owner kindly went and got these for me. The shower was hot and had good water pressure. The mattress had a depression in the area where hips rested, presumably because lots of customers had been sleeping on it for lots of years - it clearly needs replacing.
Disliked: When I asked for the WiFi access code I was told there was no guest WiFi, despite this being listed on the Golden Chain webpage (this motel is part of that chain). Seriously? I travel widely and the vast majority of motels in this day and age provide WiFi! The electric kettle was rusty inside and it was too big to fit under the hand basin to fill without having to use a teacup to transfer water from tap to kettle.
