Liked: Clean room, very comfortable bed and very kind staff. Good gym and pool but unfortunately the jacuzzi was out of order. Good breakfast

We like this hotel and...

Liked: The setting of the hotel is lovely and its design is interesting, particularly the original core.Our room was down a long corridor but was pleasant once in it. It was also quiet with views of trees and the facilities were good.
Disliked: The long wing we were in could do with a second lift but the layout is determined by the history of the place. The point of arrival is not easy getting through two sets of doors and it is not clear where those arriving should park to unload. Some better signage would help but that would detract from the overall impact of the place so it needs careful thought.

A restful experience.

Liked: Location great, 5 minutes from main road back down south and 5 minutes from Aberdeen. Set in beautiful grounds with ample parking. Breakfast had every choice of fresh fruits, continental and a delicious cooked breakfast too. Great coffee too! Staff were helpful and professional. Very roomy bedroom with uber comfortable bed.

Not what I was expecting...

Liked: Location lovely
Disliked: The bed was very uncomfortable, there was staining on the seating. Very dirty unpleasant birds mess on window . So much that didn’t draw the curtains as looked so disgusting . Obviously been there for sometime. I told reception but nothing was done about it .

Loved spa . Great breakfast....

Liked: Location , Castle appearance .
Disliked: Needed refurbishing , paintwork tired and a party on the front when we arrived with loud music and bouncy castle ( shame ) was looking forward to the quiet and tranquil location .
