Ardmillan Hotel

Liked: Very friendly staff; very comfortable bed; very reasonably priced when all you need is a bed to rest your head at the end of a night out.

Pleasant and comfortable stay.

Liked: It’s a good and cheap hotel with comfortable and cozy rooms, the rooms are a little small but definitely enough to be satisfied. The rooms were clean and tidy, the bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly. Good check in and check out times as well. Lastly, very convenient location, not fat for city centre, both walkable and easy to use the bus from there.
Disliked: The only issue was the WiFi, it did not work for most of my stay and you can hear people from the other rooms quite easily.

Liked: Locality and ease of getting into the centre of Edinburgh. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and offered advice on visiting certain attractions.
Disliked: No breakfast available. However we travelled into the centre and bought something. So not an issue.

Exceptional

This was a last resort...

Liked: Sadly, there was nothing to redeem the hotel, which was a last resort when we needed to be in the city this week with most other places booked out.
Disliked: No fan and windows that were tough to open more than a small amount meant the room was terribly hot during the recent heat wave, and the bed was tough as board. The online picture was grossly misleading.

Liked: Room was clean and only 20 minutes by bus to reach the centre of edinburgh. Shower was good as well as water pressure.
Disliked: Has extremly thin walls, could hear everything from the corridor and other rooms. Room was a bit small

Disliked: No lift or food options and not very convenient to city centre. No facility to store luggage. Definitely 2 star.

Liked: The pub in the building was lovely and so were the ladies working there.
