A wonderful short stay experience...

Liked: I stayed at the Ardmillan Hotel while attending a conference in Edinburgh. From the moment I entered the hotel, I was greeted by staff and owners who were friendly, extremely helpful and informative. It was my first time in Edinburgh but not once during my stay did I feel like a stranger. From information about public transport to when and where to visit the numerous attractions, everyone at the hotel were brilliant. I would highly recommend the Ardmillan Hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Disliked: I have nothing to say about not liking anything. There simply is nothing that I experienced that I did not like.

Very good

Liked: Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of teabags! Barely saw any staff but the 2 I did meet were polite and friendly Great location, easy to get into city centre by bus (15-20 minutes)
Disliked: Not enough sockets so there was an adaptor - they always worry me. Also toilet flush didn't work well.

Disliked: The pipes in the bathroom made horrendous noises constantly - even well after you flushed the toilet or used the sink. And the toilet was regularly spitting back things into the bowl from the pipes. It was so loud, disruptive and gross. I’m so glad we were only there for one night.

Clean, comfortable room well located...

Liked: Great location for attending a concert at Murrayfield. Very clean. Well equipped. Had everything you need for an overnight stay. Nice bonus of the bar downstairs.

Gambling your money in a...

Liked: Nothing at all.
Disliked: Everything.The hotel was a complete mess. It had no reception except for a bar tender who just gave us our keys and told us to go. The room was tiny, MUCH smaller than it looked in the pictures. The bathroom was shared, which was NOT clearly mentioned. We went to the bar tender to ask him to upgrade the room, but he said he had no authority to do so, we needed him to connect us to someone who did, but he refused.It was the worst stay ever. I immediately booked another hotel and left this one, and I will be demanding a refund.

Liked: Good bed, not very far away from Haymarket and connection to city center and airport.
Disliked: Place needs urgently a renovation. It looks like you are in the film Trainspotting.
