The Spotlight on Apple Hostels of Philadelphia

Fun, Affordable Vibes in Philly’s Historic District

Apple Hostels of Philadelphia is a lively and welcoming spot tucked into the heart of Old City. Just steps from iconic landmarks like the Liberty Bell and Independence National Historical Park, this hostel blends unbeatable location with wallet-friendly pricing. With its social atmosphere, shared spaces, and modern comforts, it’s a go-to stay for travelers looking to connect and explore.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hostel delivers. You're a short rideshare or walk away from major Philly music venues and nightlife. Despite its central setting, the area stays relatively quiet at night—ideal for catching some sleep after a show. The 24-hour front desk is a huge plus for late arrivals, and the casual vibe makes it easy to meet fellow music fans.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a social and affordable base
  • Solo travelers checking artists off their concert bucket list
  • Couples wanting a fun weekend without breaking the bank
  • Fans who appreciate a quiet, comfy bed after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who’d rather spend on tickets than hotels

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no restaurant on-site, the shared kitchen is perfect for quick bites or late-night snacks. The hostel’s prime location puts you within walking distance of countless cafes, pubs, and eateries—many serving late. You’ll also find coffee and breakfast options nearby for those slower mornings after a big night out.

Nightlife Options

Old City is packed with cozy bars, trendy lounges, and local hangouts just a few blocks away. Whether you're pre-gaming before the show or winding down with a craft beer, the area’s nightlife has you covered. While the hostel doesn’t host live music, the communal spaces often buzz with conversation and impromptu playlist sessions.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, clean facilities, and social atmosphere. Many mention how easy it is to meet people from around the world, and how convenient the location is for exploring Philly on foot. The vibe is consistently described as fun, safe, and great for solo travelers.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are shared and bathrooms are communal, which might not suit travelers looking for more privacy. Light sleepers may want earplugs during busy weekends. But for the price and location, most guests feel it’s a worthwhile trade-off.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Philly for a concert and want an affordable, social, and centrally located place to crash, Apple Hostels of Philadelphia hits all the right notes.

Definitely not worth it, not...

Liked: The bed was comfortable
Disliked: Where to start. I didn't like that the guy on the desk walked into my room without knocking – twice – to do something (supply me with extra pillows, or some such). The bathrooms are strictly segregated, which sucked as a non-binary person. I was placed on the mens floor, but was told I 'had' to use the womens bathroom. Heads up; there's no lift, so good luck with carrying your luggage up and down. As you'd expect, the wifi was almost non-existent. Quite the waste of $200 for a private room.

Great location and nice stuff...

Liked: The location, the stuff so helpful and so kind, the common space and the kitchen are big, nice for gathering! The shared room are good too..
Disliked: The floor is disguisting, it’s sticky and a lot of hair everywhere! The toilet are clean but the floor really need to be clean often with a mop and cleaning product! Some furniture (sofa) also are so old and need to be change

Good but staff is meh

Liked: The facilities were very clean and well maintained.
Disliked: I did not appreciate that when the male staff came into the girls dorms, they either said nothing or very quietly said they were entering. I wish each bunk had a curtain for all the way around it instead of just a quarter.

Stay in a 4 bed...

Liked: The pool table was surprisingly one of the best I’ve played on in a long time. Wish I stayed longer just to shoot pool.
Disliked: I stayed in a 10 room dorm, i would have stayed in a 4 room dorm. More people, more noise. The metal bunk beds creak profusely, and people are considerate of you sleeping after hours.
