The Spotlight on Apple Hostels of Philadelphia

Fun, Affordable Vibes in Philly’s Historic District

Apple Hostels of Philadelphia is a lively and welcoming spot tucked into the heart of Old City. Just steps from iconic landmarks like the Liberty Bell and Independence National Historical Park, this hostel blends unbeatable location with wallet-friendly pricing. With its social atmosphere, shared spaces, and modern comforts, it’s a go-to stay for travelers looking to connect and explore.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hostel delivers. You're a short rideshare or walk away from major Philly music venues and nightlife. Despite its central setting, the area stays relatively quiet at night—ideal for catching some sleep after a show. The 24-hour front desk is a huge plus for late arrivals, and the casual vibe makes it easy to meet fellow music fans.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a social and affordable base
  • Solo travelers checking artists off their concert bucket list
  • Couples wanting a fun weekend without breaking the bank
  • Fans who appreciate a quiet, comfy bed after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who’d rather spend on tickets than hotels

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no restaurant on-site, the shared kitchen is perfect for quick bites or late-night snacks. The hostel’s prime location puts you within walking distance of countless cafes, pubs, and eateries—many serving late. You’ll also find coffee and breakfast options nearby for those slower mornings after a big night out.

Nightlife Options

Old City is packed with cozy bars, trendy lounges, and local hangouts just a few blocks away. Whether you're pre-gaming before the show or winding down with a craft beer, the area’s nightlife has you covered. While the hostel doesn’t host live music, the communal spaces often buzz with conversation and impromptu playlist sessions.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, clean facilities, and social atmosphere. Many mention how easy it is to meet people from around the world, and how convenient the location is for exploring Philly on foot. The vibe is consistently described as fun, safe, and great for solo travelers.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are shared and bathrooms are communal, which might not suit travelers looking for more privacy. Light sleepers may want earplugs during busy weekends. But for the price and location, most guests feel it’s a worthwhile trade-off.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to Philly for a concert and want an affordable, social, and centrally located place to crash, Apple Hostels of Philadelphia hits all the right notes.

Liked: Good location, we had a private room, very clean, nice kitchen and friendly staff.
Disliked: A lot of noise from outside the room, but that is just because the hostel is good located.

An amazing place to stay...

Liked: -Amazing Staff. They were super friendly and really helpful. People on the desk 24/7 is always a bonus. Gave good recommendations when asked.-Great location. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to. If I needed to go further, there was a SEPTA station around the corner.-Friendly clientele. Seemed to attract like minded travellers and everyone seemed up for a good time. Very social hostel great for solo travellers like myself.-Comfy beds. Probably the comfiest hostel bed I’ve been in by a mile. Great pillows too.-Air Conditioning. Stayed in peak summer and the air conditioning was a life saver. Seems to be standard in the rooms.-Complimentary Towels and Facilities. Didn’t have to pay extra for a towel. The pool table, tea and other amenities were also free!-Lockers. Good sized lockers that I was able to fit my giant suitcase into surprisingly.-Kitchen. Well equipped kitchen facilities. Saw they were putting new utensils and pans in when I was there.-Price. Insanely good value for the money. Cheapest place to stay in central Philly by a long way.
Disliked: -Cleaning. Very minor thing but sometimes the showers and bath mats were a bit gross. Under my bed and on the floor of my dorm there seemed to be a bit more dust than expected.-Outside at night. Not much the hostel can do about it, but the alley the hostel is in felt a bit sketchy at night. Never had any trouble but I could see why someone could feel unsafe. Not much else to say about negatives though!

The private room is nice...

Liked: Great location, very convenient to walk to the bars close by, also walkable distance to the metro station. The single room is nice and clean, the shower room is clean. The public area on the 1st floor is a great to meet and chat with people.
