Comfortable beds; large, well equipped room and bathroom; very quiet; all spotlessly clean; location perfect for (5 minutes walk away); great view of castle; loads of great pubs and restaurants nearby. Very near to Station and Princes Street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go to Apex again.

Liked: On checking out, they offered to look after our luggage if we wished until we caught our train home.
Disliked: Scaffolding over entrance and workmen busy on our floor but not disturbed in any way despite this.

Great location

Liked: Terrific location close to restaurants, Fringe Festival venues and many attractions. Hop-on/off bus stops right outside. 24hr check in was helpful when our flight was delayed. Also handy to be able to leave bags after checkout until our flight.
Disliked: TV not working in our room

I would stay here again.

Liked: I liked the executive lounge feature. I also liked having a bathtub and a shower to choose from.
Disliked: The view wasn't great, I had a room facing their courtyard. The options for food in the area were very slim.

Liked: Location, location, location. Nice staff. Clean. Elevators!!! Free drink with stay.
Disliked: For the price of these rooms they should have usb chargers or adaptors.

Disappointing- would not recommend

Liked: The location was brilliant.
Disliked: It was tired, grubby and overpriced. The water pressure in our room was terrible, the shower had cracked tiles and black mould, paint was peeling off the door and there were stains on the carpet. This was not the standard I would expect for a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing.

Liked: The breakfast was very nice, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: I wish I booked a premium room with AC during the heat wave.

A lovely hotel, in the...

Liked: Breakfast was delicious. We both had a cooked breakfast. I asked if I could have my Eggs Benedict on sourdough rather than muffins which was no problem at all. There were plenty fluffy white towels, ironing board & iron. The bed was very comfortable & cosy.
Disliked: There was nothing that we didn’t like. We weren’t in the room for a long period, as we came down for the tattoo, so late to bed & early start to head home in the morning. But we have booked our Tattoo tickets for 2026 & a room at The Apex again

Liked: room was very nice - separate living area came in handy - family of 5.
Disliked: Parking under the hotel was difficult - hard to find a space

Pleasant enough for our needs.

Liked: The location was excellent, also the food in the restaurant was a suprise the staff and the quality was fantastic.
Disliked: No Aircon in the room, it was very warm even with the fan on and the room only had one window. I also paid for late check out but the key card stopped working at 11am. nearly forgot the shower tray was not draining properly which was a bit of a problem with 3 people sharing.
