Lovely stay

Liked: Staff were friendly especially Breakfast young chap.breakfast was lovely will definitely stay again.Loved the garden

Quaint hotel, but 24-hour reception...

Liked: A very quaint property. The location was fine - we had disabled parking, which was very helpful.
Disliked: The reception closed at 8 pm, which I wasn't aware of. We were out for the evening & were perplexed when we came back at 10 pm with a mobile phone for emergencies. We wanted more supplies for tea & and coffee, so I was very disappointed. Breakfast in the morning was frustrating because it took so long to be served. Only one member of staff to manage & it wasn't fair on him. We had to wait 25 minutes before our order was taken & it wasn't even that busy, but if one person is expected to take orders, bring food & clear tables, then that's not surprising. He did apologise, but he needed support. As much as the hotel was clean & staff were friendly, we won't be visiting again. The room was ok, but it definitely needs updating. Wardrobes & drawers were old & looked well worm.

Welcome retreat

Liked: Great location, free parking outside. Quirky building with some beautiful antiques. Energetic and friendly staff. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious. Free use of swimming pool.
Disliked: Pool amenties were dated.

Nice place would stay again...

Liked: Breakfast was good, Staff were helpful when they were around.
Disliked: They should have refilled the fruits and croissants whe it finished on both Saturday and Sunday.Service was slow probably as there wasn't many staff serving drinks or food. No sun loungers or chairs around the pool. Bar close too early Friday 10pm sat 9.30pm

Staff brilliant but ‘spa’ doesn’t...

Liked: The restaurant and garden were really lovely. All of the staff very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The gym and sauna really shouldn’t be marketed. We were very disappointed when we saw what was on offer with those facilities. We didn’t want to use either which was a shame as it was one of the reasons we booked the hotel.
