The Spotlight on Andrew Jackson Hotel French Quarter

Historic Charm Meets Music Scene Energy

The Andrew Jackson Hotel French Quarter blends 18th-century elegance with unbeatable location. Set right in the heart of the French Quarter, this cozy boutique hotel puts you just steps from some of New Orleans’ most legendary music venues and iconic streets. With classic French-style architecture and a peaceful courtyard, it offers a relaxing contrast to the lively energy just outside.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can’t beat the location—just a short walk to Bourbon Street, St. Louis Cathedral, and major live music hotspots. The 24-hour front desk and free WiFi make post-show logistics easy, and the hotel’s slightly tucked-away position on Royal Street means you can enjoy a quieter night’s sleep after the encore. Flexible check-in from 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM gives you time to recover.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends hitting the Quarter for a music weekend
- Solo travelers chasing a dream concert
- Couples looking for a romantic, music-filled getaway
- Fans needing a quiet retreat after a high-energy show
- Budget-conscious travelers who want location without the high price

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, you’re surrounded by some of the best local eateries in town—many open late into the night. Craving a po'boy or beignets after a gig? You’ll find plenty within walking distance. Continental breakfast is often included, perfect for a slow, post-show morning.

Nightlife Options

Live music venues, jazz clubs, and cocktail bars are just blocks away, including some of the most famous spots in the French Quarter. No car needed—just wander and discover. If you prefer something more low-key, the hotel’s quiet courtyard is a great place to wind down.

What People Say

Guests love the location, calling it “perfect for walking to everything.” Many describe the hotel as full of character and charm, with a helpful staff and a unique historical vibe. The courtyard and architecture are often mentioned as highlights.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side, and because it’s a historic property, there’s no elevator—something to note if you're carrying gear or have mobility needs. Some guests mention minor maintenance quirks, but most agree it adds to the charm.

The Bottom Line

For music lovers wanting a truly New Orleans experience, Andrew Jackson Hotel French Quarter offers historic charm and unbeatable access to the city’s vibrant concert scene.

A little disappointed.

Liked: The location was perfect
Disliked: The room had a huge lump in the floor that was a trip hazard. The pipes in the ceiling and walls had dirt/dust in them.

Liked: Location in the quarter was excellent
Disliked: Parking, they charge $70 for off site parking (their driver only) and bring it back with the side all scraped up. They were willing to refund my parking fees.

Land of ‘Oz

Liked: It’s an old old building, so you don’t go there if you are picky or expecting a ritz Carlton experience! You go there when you want to feel the real New Orleans experience, with gost story and weird magic neighborhood!! It’s comfortable but not modern at all. Creaky doors and floors, this hotel brings you back to the pass and its wonderful!

Would rather stay off the...

Liked: The room was located in a good location for walking to many area art galleries and shopping.
Disliked: There were street performers playing and singing right outside the hotel with microphones playing daily and from 10am til midnight on Friday night and we couldn't get any sleep until they stopped. Could not nap due to them playing. The room was not very clean nor were the sheets and blankets on the bed. Also I booked a room with 2 beds and upon arrival was told they only had a king available for me.

Avoid this place

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The place is a dump, lady at the front desk was asleep and couldn't wake her easily to check out. She seemed annoyed when I woke her. Avoid this place.
